FM ADVENTURES: STILL READ MAGAZINES?
When’s the last time you bought a magazine? Internet definitely killed the full power of what the magazine used to be, but there’s something about buying a magazine that owns over just reading an article online. Entertaining yourself on an airplane is always key, so went and did something i havent done in ages: i bought a few magazines…

Been on the road so much i dont get a chance to catch up on all my music news and gossip, so Rollingstone was my first choice. Im what you call a “magazine scanner”, so i’ll flip thru the pages like a deck of cards until i see a headline, advertisement, picture or booty that would make me stop in my tracks and read more. I buy magazines largely to zone out, cuz if i’m on my computer i get too side tracked and end up going back to my emails or twitter… so a magazine is a chance to get away from all that and take in info without thinking or searching.
I happened to see one of my favorite bands on the cover of Spin named MUSE so i had to pick that up, and when i was flipping thru i saw an interesting article on the new generation music video directors that are making videos for much cheaper these days. A very true article for all artists, with industry cutbacks on budgets, artists cant be getting them million dollar budgets for music videos like in the days of michael jackson ‘remember the time’ or biggie and p.diddy ‘hypnotize’. There’s a crazy new movement of video directors that make crazy quality music videos on minimal budgets… and these videos are mtv quality.

As i was doin my ’scanning’ of the article.. i flipped out cuz i saw my long time friend and director of countless Far East Movement videos and short skits – Todd Angkasuwan. They were giving him props for the video he did for WALE called “W.A.L.E.D.A.N.C.E.”

Todd gets major props for this video..check out his ill special effect work on this joint:

** “Millionaire” music video by Wong Fu Productions and Todd Angkasuwan collaborating is in the works still.. but will come soon
Definitely proud to see one of the people we started in music with breaking down the door and becoming a ‘go-to-guy’ in the industry for a dope music video, cant wait to see what the future holds. Arizona is actually his hometown and where we met up to do our first music video work with him, so it was kinda fate that i bought this magazine and saw him in it while on a flight to Phoenix.
Early Early morning flight.. early enough to see the sun creep up as we head out to Phoenix for a special Birthday performance late night for our bro DJ Mikee Mike from www.1015jamz.com.

arrived at homebase for Mikee Mike and Shew (the Fresh Fiends) who are family to us, which means we really make ourselves at home.. REALLY… lol

Virman heard Mikee gives pro haircuts… next thing you know we’ll be moving in HAHA
Also raided the kitchen and found this surprise… PORTOS! the best cuban bakery around in burbank.. known for soooo many goodies but what we love the most is the special cheese bread/pastries that taste like mini cheese cakes wrapped in a croissant. BOMB and ADDICTING.

Didn’t know you could INHALE bread till i tried these…
Hit up a family bbq, Virman’s cousin Jojo got his bobby flay on. Marinated the meat with a special mix of A1 Sauce, Worstishire or however you spell it, and hoisin sauce. Just perfect

At night we hit up BUZZ in Phoenix where 101.5 JAMZ was holding DJ Mikee Mike’s Birthday Bash. Came thru to line up the shots for the bday boy and to perform our single “Girls On The Dance Floor”. Some places, security is very accommodating at some places.. and at other places they could care less weather you are a performer, sometimes they are even harder on you if you are a performer lol

Gotta make sure the Far East Movement doesn’t sneak in Uzi’s and Ak-47s into the club

Our homegirl Jassy from 101.5 Jamz hosting on the mic
Random, but this cool dood named Cowboy Chris from a motorcycle crew said they bump “Girls On The Dance Floor” before they hit the road. that has to be the coolest thing i’ve heard in a minute. Thanks for reppin fam

Cowboy Chris and Prohgress agree – Sons Of Anarchy is their favorite show.
