MAN vs. SPICY RAMEN

Who will win?

We hit up this famous spot in Little Tokyo called Orochon, known to have possibly the spicy-est ramen noodles on the planet.

They challenge people that come in to finish a full bowl of the SPECIAL #2… which is known to give you a burning #2 later…
and if you finish the whole bowl, you get your picture taken and put up on the wall of ‘flame’. this spot was even featured in the tv show Man Vs. Food.

Supposedly the dood on the bottom right of this picture finished a bowl in less than 30 minutes, which i hear is a true feat…and a world record at Orochon..

I can feel the nervous-ness at the table… the curiosity of how spicy this bowl of ramen can really be is killin us… and the consequences of killin something this spicy is makin people have second thoughts

Waiter comes to the table and delivers THE SPECIAL #2…. or the BOWL OF DEATH.

Allen is the first challenger… he is the MAN vs. the FOOD.
He starts to dig into this dangerous bowl of noodles, and notices theres all these green things floating around… they happen to be diced jalapeno slices and there are more of those in the soup than actual noodles. I can see the sweat dripping down his glasses just looking at the bowl. My mouf feels spicy just looking at the #2.

Tablo is up for the challenge, but half way thru the battle with the bowl knows that he has a 18 hour flight back to korea and makes a wise decision to let Allen go for the gold.

Camera goes back to Allen, who is fighting like a true champion.. every bite is like the battle of 300 and his stomach is King Leonidas. He inches closer and closer to victory with only a few more noodles left in the bowl when, out of nowhere… the white napkin of surrender goes up
