FM ADVENTURE: LAST DAY WITH BIONIK
I never got a chance to tell yall about a good friend of mine.

Around 2004-2005 we were working on the early FM music and looking for new producers and people to collab with and we linked up with the creator of chello rock named Ken Oak. He introduced us to his guitar player at the time named Stefon Taylor aka BIONIK.
Our first session with Bionik was working on a few new FM tracks over beats he had cuz his production was bangin. Ever since then i spent near 3 or 4 days a week working with bionik for the last few years.. sometimes 12 hour sessions finding the right sound and vibe for our first album “Folk Music”.

Thru sessions with him, he told me stories of his experiences on the road with a reggae band, producing for legendary artists in scottland, and even working with R. Kelly and Aaliyah on they’re early tracks and Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins… this dude was truly a GURU of music…. and he’s accomplished waaaay more since then. Bionik is one person i’d consider a rennasance man with countless talents.. He even build his studio from wood and dry wall from the ground up and hosted his own art gallery as a painter.

Together we found a sound that works for FM…and taught me a whole lot of what i know about music today… and in a sense we both learned alot off each other just by being down to try new things musically. We’ve been able to get a song placed on Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift along with countless TV placements… we produced the ABC Jin album, and together we’ve got 2 songs on main rotation on major radio.
He’s become a great friend and advisor to me and the CMG team thru the years, we’ve had ups and downs like all friends do and thru it all thats one person we’d all be there for in the end.
i recently found out he’s moving out of state. Tho he’s only an email, phone call, and plane ride away… it feels like we all loosing a good friend. We’ll be working together much more in the future, but this day is our last session together for 2008 as we finish up the Animal album together.

The Beehive studio was a place i considered my second home… with alot of great memories and discoveries and i’m sad to see it go.. but God works in mysterious ways and will watch over both of us.
He’d probably laugh and clown for the serious sentimental post lol.
But thanks for everything Bionik.

MR FISH.
