FM ADVENTURE: FM IN SCRATCH – THE VIDEO GAME

All my video gamer heads! Who can tear it up on Guitar Hero or Rock Band?

There’s a new game coming to town called SCRATCH – The Ultimate DJ, that is the same concept as Rock Band but for djs, with a mini turntable set up designed by Numark. The best best thing about this whole game…. It features THE FAR EAST MOVEMENT!!

After the E3 Expo 2009 in downtown Los Angeles, Scratch and Numark held a special premiere party at Club Elevate for the new game and gave a few people a sneak preview to play the game before the game is even finished… with some crazy special performances and appearances from some people that got us star struck we’ll show ya later on in the post.

They game company sent out a super luxury suv to pick us up early to head to soundcheck.. and inside the car they had fiji water and sour redvines, what more could you ask for? We’ve been dying to test out the game so right when we got to Elevate we headed straight to business…

AND GUESS WHAT WE SAW NEXT…. WOW…

FAR EAST MOVEMENT – ANIMAL !!!!!!

next to Gorillaz, Eric B and Rakim, The Beastie Boys, Kanye West and more??

ARE YOU SERIOUS???

Im a fan of the guitar hero/rockband game play so this game works out dope for me. we always said someone should make a game like this.. and they finally did!

Check the mini turntable..

Kev Nish was chattin with one of the stars of the game.. sorry kev, didn’t mean to interrupt.

Kev: “So did they get you a good health insurance plan for being the star in the game?”

Oops.. forgot we came here to WORK lol…

We love our job. Lets do soundcheck…

The club was set up like a tribute to hip hop… and check out some of the toys on deck

Something new from Numark… The new Numark NS7 with Serato Itch

Something CLASSIC from AKAI… MPC 60…. it looks like a dynosaurus rex, but this is what most of the greats started out on.

Alot of your favorite hits were made on this beast.

The perks of doing industry events is the schwag.. or the cool free stuff they have as gifts.

Thanks Skullcandy… sumpin the keep the head knockin and the ears warm.

We had a few hours to kill before showtime, and since we were in downtown LA, we decided to hit up this spot called Origami Bistro where our photographer fam from Shinobi Studios took us to grub while we were shooting the pics for the Lowridin Tee shirt … This bistro is known for the HAPPY HOUR.

During ‘happy hour’ hours, the prices are ridiculously LOW for incredible food. Like $1 kobe beef tacos, and $2.95 for a 6 piece spicy tuna roll.. check it out..

for $12 you can eat like a KING.

We ordered spicy tuna rolls, spicy tuna over crispy rice, gyozas, scrimp tempura rolls, and a ton of kobe beef tacos.

When it comes to food.. we are KILLERS.

All you ballers on a budget with the blue collar blues.. this is the spot for you. especially if you have date and the girl says she wants sushi.. you dont have to sweat it and try to convince her that its too far and eat pizza instead.. now you can go to Origami Bistro in Downtown during Happy Hour and splurge like a millionaire…. you can say to your girl “you can have whatever you like on the menu baby!”

BACK TO WORK!

Getting close to showtime so we headed back to Elevate for the Scratch Premiere Party… set to perform was FM, the crazy DJ Numark from Jurassic 5 and Raekwon the Chef from the legendary Wu Tang Clan…. was pretty crazy meeting Numark and Raekwon who we’ve been fans of since we first started rhyming, but then…. out of nowhere… QUINCY JONES, the man behind the classic MJ Thriller album and countless other classic albums and grammy awards and tv shows and anything entertainment related, walks in and sits at the table next to ours… probably the most famous person i’ve ever met. Shout outs to Quincy Jones’s grand kids who were hella cool and asked for autographs from us, that’s TITE. I couldn’t grab any pics but heres a few:

DJ Numark of J5 cuttin it up

FAR EAST MOVEMENT IN THE BUILDING! lookin like ghosts haha

and now its time for me to get my SCRATCH on. I’ve never dj’ed before in my life so this game might be a challege, but i can get down in Guitar Hero.. can i beat Virman’s score of 88%?

Look at DJ Virman looking worried…

My gaming skills had paid off… the mini turntable controller and MPC pad was dope to use.. and i got the score of 91% on the beginner level barely beating DJ Virman’s score… BUT I DID!!!!!!

Looks like yall dj’s better step ya game up and watch out for DJ Prohgress… lookin to hit the clubs up soon lol.

Thanks to Hunnypot Records and Scratch for having us at such a dope event and immortalizing our song “ANIMAL” of our current album titled ANIMAL.
