FM Kevnish CHICAGO BEARZ

FM ADVENTURE: CHICAGO BEARZ
(Includes EATING FM – “FLATTOPPED”)

BON V, a fresh lounge/club in Chicago, brought us out for a performance and we lovin chi-town for so many reasons.

DJ Virman is dressed to party. “Don’t Be Tardy for the Pardy”

The FM Party-mobile has arrived.

Must not eat 2 days before visiting Chicago.. so that you have enough room to eat as much food as possible when you are there. The CHI is proud of their food. Our bro DJ Flipside from Chicago radio station B96 and DJ for the group the Jump Smokers (got that hit “Now You See Me” with Pitbull), hit us up to grab a bite before the show. He took us to one of the most interesting restaurants i’ve ever been to called FLATTOP.. and it happed to be right across the street from the studio where they shoot the world famous Oprah Winfrey Show..

EATING FM – “FLATTOPPPED”
Why is this Flattop restaurant so interesting? i don’t even know how to explain. Its like a play on mongolian bbq where you build your own dish with raw veggies and stuff, then you give the cook your dish of raw stuff to cook it for you and you get back a shrunken dish of your creation… but its not really mongolian bbq, its like a new Chicago mashup lol. Lemme try and brake this down..

1. DISH IT UP. You can either start with rice or phad thai noodles. Then you stack all kinds of fresh veggies on there: Peas, Spinach, Onions, Corn, Peppers and anything green.

2. GET IS SAUCY.
They got Spicy, Peanut, Phad Thai, Korean Bbq, Curry and any type of asian sauce you can think of. Whatever combo you like, pour it on. We like it soupy.

3. BEEF IT UP. Choose from steak, chicken, whitefish, pork, Filipino sausage and calamari… you can go all in if you like.. but not sure how all them would taste mixed up.

4. REMIX. You can remix your creation by adding these special colored sticks into your creation. When the cook sees that you’ve added a certain stick in your bowl, they will know that you want your creation turned into a wrap or soup. They also have other sticks that let you add shrimp skewers, an egg, and grilled flatbread. If you love eating things “YOUR WAY” and love variety even more, this is the way you should be eating food.

5. SHRINKAGE. Then you give your raw masterpiece over to the cooks who got a huge grill to whip it all up into one big mashup. You write your name on a wooden stick so they know who’s bowl is who’s. No mix ups here.

BEFORE – Unedible.

AFTER – Inhale-able.

All thats left.

For $2 more, you can have the option of getting ‘all you can eat’.. which means you have countless combos to try and only so much room under your shirt. We have a show in a few hours so 2 bowls max for us.

I’m thinkin only in Chicago would you be able to find something like this. I give em props on the creative-ness, tho when i first sat down i was confused like a mutha and kept on buggin the waitress on the next step, but after the first dish we got it down no prob.

DJ VIRMAN x DJ FLIPSIDE = FLATTOPPED.

EATING FM Rating system:

***3 Fingers up – MUST EAT.. crave for it.. amazing food. If you dont try it your missing out on life…

**2 Fingers up – Great Taste, if you get a chance… try it… i recommend it.

* 1 Finger up
– Kinda wish i didnt eat there or order what i ordered … but i ate it and now im full.

- Middle Finger up – i threw it away while eating it… if i had a brick i’d throw it through the window.. and if i had lighter fluid and a lighter.. i’d burn that mutha down…

What WE Thought:

Restaurant: FLATTOP

Location: CHICAGO (across the street from the Oprah Winfrey Show)

Price Range: good. $14 all you can eat.

We recommend: You can make it how you like, but the korean bbq sauce is the biz and add a grilled flatbread and an egg.

Service: DO IT YO SELF. BLAME YO SELF

Rating: – ***3 Fingers up. I made it so i can’t complain.. and i want it again for sure haha.

Full and fresh dressed, we headed over to Bon V for the performance. The owner of the club was a super cool guy named Casey Urlacher.. and Prohgress kept thinking “man he looks so familiar.. i’ve seen him before but cant think of it.” After the car ride with Casey over to the club it finally clicked in Proh’s head who Casey was. He is the brother of the Chicago Bears Football player named Brian Urlacher. WHAT A TRIP, cuz they totally look alike and a bigger trip that we got booked to rock Brian Urlacher’s brothers party… dood is a BIG DEAL.

The club was packed. Thanks to Casey and Bon V for the hospitality and showing us a great time.

Partyin goes till 5am in Chicago, and its only 1am so we hit up our family at CSG Guestlist who throw a club called Venom in Downtown. It is now a ritual for us to party here with our CSG fam every time we’re in Chicago cuz these dudes party harder and more recklessly than anyone in the country. NO JOKE. By the time the clock hits 5am we don’t know where we are and we don’t care hahah we just know that we had a good a$$ time.

Bernard and Marco reppin FM on the mic

DJ SHY from 103.5 KISS FM reppin the Far East Movement

Maurice Halsted from 103.5 KISS FM keepin them “GIRLS ON THE DANCE FLOOR”.

Didn’t get a chance to link with our homie Boi Jeanius, the rest of the 103.5 Beat Freaks family and all the DJ’s holding us down out there.. but waddup and thank for reppin. We’ll be back soon and def need to link up!

Happy birthday to Sang from CSG and shouts to Daniel, Rook, Jackie, Stephanie, Kristie and all the CSG Guestlist fam… thanks for always takin care of ya FM BOYS.

Stumbled out the club around 5am and starvin so we headed over the the famous 24hour spot called Maxwell St outside the city.. this is exactly how our vision looked…

This spot is known for polish dogs, fish sandwiches and pork chop sandwiches. Could not ask for better food after the club…LETS GET IT!

We know why people from the CHI love it so much. Another city where we wish we could stay longer than 1 night. We’re on no hours of sleep by the time we got back to our hotel and our limo was already waiting out front to take us to the airport. Packed our stuff and said good bye to the CHI once again.

This looks like the way you watch a football game in the future, like Back To The Future.. We are now living in the FUTURE.

Arrived back to LA with a special surprise waitng for us at our office…

A huge box full of clean new Reeboks from our homie Blaze Wong at Cornerstone – 1200Squad… What a great homecoming gift…

My first pair of Reeboks. Lovin these and bout to rock em all daaaay.

We’re coming back to Chicago on November 22nd at the Congress Theater for the LMFAO x FM PARTY ROCK TOUR. Tickets are on sale now HERE.
