On Saturday, October 11th, I took a last minute trip to Oakland from San Diego (Thank you to Anne Marie, one of my blog readers for buying my airplane ticket!) to attend the America’s Best Dance Crew Live Tour at the Paramount Theatre. It was my first time visiting Oakland, let alone anywhere in North California. My friend, Michelle was suppose to pick me up from the airport. So I’m listening to my iPod (I know I shouldn’t start my sentences with the word “so”, it’s a bad habit) and as I’m walking out of the automated doors of Oakland International Airport the first thing or should I say people that I see is Far East Movement! What are the chances of both Far East Movement and I flying into Oakland from San Diego within the same hour?! I was super starstruck! The nerves must have gotten to me because I couldn’t muster up the confidence to go and say hi to them. I must have looked like a fool though because I was literally feet if not inches away from them looking like a total hypebeast, pretending to listen to my iPod, and staring like a hawk all while trying to act calm and “cool” at the same time. I was calling everyone and their mamas to tell them that Far East Movement was within my reach. Everyone was telling me to go say hi but I was hella melting! The boys eventually got into the car and drove away into the far distance leaving the broken pieces of my heart behind. Haha, okay, that was drastic. It was a bitter ending to only the beginning of my long one day trip.
