FM Kevnish 1 Day in Vancity

FM ADVENTURE: 1 DAY IN VANCITY

International Secret Agent style… we got our passports ready for 1 night in Vancouver, Canada.

This passport is always a good reminder of how blessed we are as FM to be doin what we love and seeing places around the world we might have never seen… from Canada, to Brazil, to China, to Korea, to Hong Kong, to Macau, to Amsterdam, to France and all over the USA… theres crazy memories behind each stamp.. and over 10 pages filled up and 4 more to go..

Landed in Van City early in the morning.. and we had a show the night before so we got home at 3am, packed our bags and went straight to the airport and knocked out on the plane

Lets see what we can take in with 1 day in Vancouver…

Performing city to city.. we see a ton of places… but most all cities look the same since we usually only see the same things. We fly in to the local airports, head straight to the hotel to check in, head right to the club for soundcheck, back to the hotel for rest and dinner…. and back to the club or venue for the show…
Airports, Hotels, clubs and restaurants all kind of look the same in every city so my favorite part of the trips is usually the drive. The drive from the airport to the hotel or from the hotel to the performance spot is the chance we get to take in what each city is like.. from the buildings, Vancouver kinda looks like a mini Hong Kong

Our homegirl Stephanie and the crew at Phreshvibe and Independent who brought us in town pressed up this cool ticket for the nights show

Headed over to the club early for soundcheck.
The venue was in Downtown Vancouver near a stadium and on the waterfront called Gossip… Internationally fresh DJ Virman has just arrived in the Air Yeezy’s… time to shut the place dooown! haha

Our fam from Aznlifestyles TV came thru to soundcheck to an interview.. thank you to Kevin, Amy So, Paul and the crew for reppin the Far East Movement out here and spreading the music. Got a chance to talk about our Animal album and what we’ve been up to lately… lots and lots of touring!

Always have to check the mic levels and sound before the the show.. the sad thing is.. we spend time to test all the levels and get it right, but most of the time when it gets to the actual show time.. why do the mics and sound all the sudden have to go bad?? like 1 mic will be way too low, or the stage monitors will not be on so we can’t hear ourselves but they were working fine during soundcheck hahaha its one of those unexplainable things we will never understand… ever…

Starving after soundcheck… we were wondering… what’s considered Canadian food? in the US we got the steak and potatos, korean’s go the kimchee and Kalbi, mexico got tacos, japan got sushi, so on and so fourth…. But what’s the known food in Canada????????

i found out its all about the ‘poutine’ … i said “what? pooty?”… Pootine?… huh?”

Its a popular dish in vancouver… french fries, cheese curd and gravy.

Sounds like it could be tasty but we weren’t in the mood for all that before the show. The Aznlifestyles Tv fam told us about a cool Thai restaurant in Yaletown (a nice area in vancouver), and we’re always down for some good thai food, and the crazier part was that he said the owner of the restaurant knew our music.. thats tigggght. we had to bring him and Animal CD haha

Thanks to the owner Desmond we all had some juice to cheers with..  here’s to an awesome 1 day in van city.

It definitely wasn’t a normal thai spot.. the menu had a modern twist to all the items.. from the salmon to the beef salads… i got the fish with red curry, jsplif got the phad thai, virman had salmon and proh had lemon fish.. and everything was excellent.. 3 fingers up no doubt.

The big winner was this Lychee drink they put us on too.. REFRESHING.

anytime your in vancouver and lookin for a nice dinner.. defintiely hit this place up.. more info and menu at http://www.charmmodernthai.com/

Crazy thing about Vancouver is that the sun goes down hella late. It was 9:20pm by the time we got out of the restaurant and it looked like 6pm, Los Angeles time out side.. kinda throws us off cuz our first show was for a high school party at 10pm with our Epik events crew family but it didn’t even feel like time to perform haha.

Got over to the highschool dance and did a quick set.. thanks to Epik for reppin FM!

Then we hopped over to Gossip for the next performance. Now, everyone from our hosts to the promotion crews and djs were the nicest fam we’ve ever met… but the security at this club had to have been the rudest and most un-professional people we’ve ever encountered in all our years of traveling and performing a venues around the world. There’s posters of us in the front of the club rocking hats.. and an image on the screen of us rocking hats, but when we arrive at the club and the security knows we’re the featured act of the night they still rudely insist that we take our hats off. Now, we’re always respectful and we keep our cool as best we can.. not trying to be divas HAHAHAHA.. but to have us on a poster, ticket and screen promoting us just the way we are and telling us we can’t wear something when we’re inside is a bit backwards. We respectfully took our hats off but even when we went out to the bar to say hi to people and take pictures, we put our hats on for the pictures and security would run up to us and in the rudest way tell us to take em off like we’re kids…Do they do that to all the acts that perform there? Security is like that sometimes… i’ve seen them treat opening acts better than us sometimes.. maybe cuz we don’t look like what a headliner is supposed to look like to them from tv? Then after the show they say “ohhh i didn’t know that was yall.. i heard you on the radio”. That’s exactly the reason we have the name we have and make the music we make… cuz that shouldn’t happen anymore.

Ok, back to the good times… heres a few flicks from the show from Phreshvibe..

we’re still new to vancouver so it was a blessing to have people come out to the show reppin FM.. we met a ton of cool family out there and looking forward to building out there more… and big shouts to DJ Juice for bumpin Girls On The Dance Floor at the club every night he’s spinning.. def check him out when you in vancouver…. and big thank you to Phreshvibe and Independent for bringing us out and promoting the Far East Movement with 3 fingers up….

What a day in Van City… our flight was leaving at 8am from Bremerton airport in Washington… so we had to drive a few hours at 4am from Canada, over the border to washington.. International Secret Agent Immigrant style. Now back home to LA for a show the next day… always on the grind… pump-pump-kick till the wheels fall off.
